Ryan Pasborg: Oil Rig Worker Civilian Hero

Saves Family from Burning House

On his way to work on Feb. 1, 2022, Ryan saw children running out of a house on fire in James Town, Wyoming. Racing over to the house he heard a child say that his brother and mother were still inside. Busting into the house like the “Coolaid Man”, Ryan crawled in the smoke filled house until he found the child. Dragging him outside and putting the rest of the children into his pickup truck to keep them warm( the temperature was sub zero), he ran back into the house to retrieve the mother whom he found unconscious and burned. Performing CPR outside, he revived her and remained on the phone with 911 until emergency services arrived. All survived and Ryan received the Carnegie Medal, North America’s highest medal for civilian heroism.

He did not set out to be a hero, but when Valor called, he answered. Valor is in you. Set it free.
