Audrey Hepburn: Classy Actress, Dutch Resistance Fighter
While not officially a Dutch Resistance fighter during WW2, Audrey nonetheless worked for and with the resistance including hiding an Allied pilot in her basement, delivering messages, and holding dancing performances in secret to audiences to raise money. As an eleven year old she personally witnessed the Jews being loaded onto trains and her brother was sent to a labor camp. Suffering from malnutrition due to food scarcity, she had to quit her dancing career and became the actress we all know so well. Some of her films include Breakfast at Tiffanys, Sabrina, and My Fair Lady. She put herself at risk for others, never gave up and reinvented herself. Read more about her courage in the book Dutch Girl.
