The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was a premier WW2 bomber that had extended range and endurance compared to its counterpart the B-17 Flying Fortress. The B-24 was instrumental in long range strikes over water and great distances in every theater of WW2. It was produced in more numbers than any other bomber in U.S. history.
