This L-29 Delfin T-shirt is a one-of-a-kind salute to one of aviation's most unlikely comeback stories.
Built by Aero Voděchody in Czechoslovakia, the L-29 Delfin was the standard jet trainer of the Soviet bloc during the Cold War — training thousands of Warsaw Pact pilots who would go on to fly MiGs and Sukhois. Simple, rugged, and well-built, it was exactly what a trainer needed to be.
But the Delfin didn't retire quietly. Souped-up versions of this Cold War trainer have made their way to air races around the world, where its speed and agility make it a genuine competitor. Look for it lighting up airshows across the country — it may be old, but it's fast.
