The Gunship and The Mechanic

The Gunship: Lockheed AC-130 and the mechanic at the RC jets airshow in Lakeland. I met a mechanic who used to work on the AC- 130 Spectre when he was stationed in Vietnam. One night he bummed a ride on the Spectre when it was shooting up the Ho Chi Minh trail. The plane was shot up , and they barely got back to base. It was an honor to meet this guy. He gave me a couple of pictures from his Vietnam days to show you. We are surrounded by unnamed men of valor. They look like us, work with us, shop at the store like us but they all have a story. Talk to them before they are gone.
