They found 263 bullet holes in Williams F9F-5 Panther fighter jet after he landed. When he took on 7 Mig-15s alone, he was with his wingman over the Sea of Japan. Scoring a hit on one Mig-15 as it passed, his wingman took off after it, leaving him with six more to himself. One after another fell to his Panther’s guns in a 35 minute dogfight that was kept off the books for decades. Now at age 100, Williams is being considered for the Medal of Honor.
