Lt. Col. Steve Russell: From Saddam Hussein to JAARS

From serving America to serving the world
Jungle Aviation and Radio Service got a new president in 2022: former Lt. Col. Steve Russell a Serbia, Iraq, and Afghanistan veteran who was instrumental in the capture of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein in 2003. Russell also served as a Senator in the Oklahoma Senate and later in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019. In 2022 he assumed the role of CEO and President of JAARS, a Christian based aviation service that provides transportation to very remote parts of the world. My wife grew up flying with these skilled aviators in the jungles of Papua New Guinea over incredibly rough terrain in extremely dangerous environments. These aircraft were sometimes the only means of transport in places where life and death required their skilled and professionalism. In recent days, JAARS made a name for itself in the U.S. by flying relief supplies into storm damaged North Carolina.
If you ever have a chance stop in and visit their operation in Waxhaw, North Carolina and talk with some real heroes, including their CEO, Lt. Col. Steve Russell. Valor is in you. Set it free.
