Colonel Charles Beckwith: The Birth of Delta Force

Served in 5 Wars, Given up for dead twice
Working with the British SAS in Malaysia in 1962, Beckwith came down with a bacterial infection he was not supposed to survive. He did. Shot in the stomach with a .50 cal gun with damage so severe he was not supposed to survive. He did. He went on to serve in multiple conflicts with his goal to create the Delta Force quick reaction teams. Their first mission into Iran was a failure due to weather but since then the Delta Force has operated in various situations where retrieval of a hostage or (in Venezuela's case) a criminal was to be bagged. Recent events in Venezuela have shown the precise and deadly nature of Delta Force operators all thanks to Beckwith and his vision. Unlike Navy Seals, the Delta Force are picked from Army units. Of course, my favorite Delta Force operator continues to be Mike Vining who, although Valourous and amazing in every way, looks like a man who can do your taxes and take out military strongmen while drinking tea. Valor is in you. Set it free.
